Q. In Terraria, how can you obtain the Traveling Merchant?

A residence is not necessary for the Traveling Merchant to spawn, in contrast to other NPCs. Instead, after at least two other NPCs (other from the Old Man and games Skeleton Merchant) are present, the Traveling Commerce will come to the player’s town at random. Every day around 4:30 AM and 12:00 PM, he has an average 22.12% chance of spawning; however, he won’t show up during solar eclipses, Goblins Army, Frost Legion, among others, Pirate Invasion, Planetary Madness, or when the chat is open.

Q. Why won’t the Traveling Merchant spawn?

A. After the player’s village has at least two additional NPCs (except the Old Man and the Zombie Merchant) in it, the Travel Merchant will come by chance. When Solar Eclipses, the evil Goblin Army, Frozen Legion, Raider Invasion, Lunar Madness, or the conversation is open, the Traveling Merchant won’t show up.
